Rokid’s Chinese New Year Short Film “The Warmth of Home”
Rokid’s latest 2021 New Year short film, “The Warmth of Home.” The film tells a story from three people’s point of view — a white-collared girl, a Didi driver, and a delivery guy- of how their lives intertwine in a moment when all of them cannot go home during the New Year.
The short film is inspired by the rebound of the pandemic in 2021, and the whole country has issued the “Do not go home unless necessary” policy during the New Year. The characters in the film are all people working in Hangzhou from different occupations. During the 7-day holiday during the spring festival, they decide to stay in the city, away from home.
When the girl returns home alone, she receives a box of hot dumplings (a traditional dish during the New Year) and is greeted by her mother via video chat. They spent a special New Year’s Eve “online” while the girl using her phone and her mother using Rokid’s newest smart speaker Eva.
Eva was made with Rokid’s mission statement “Leave of Nobody” in mind, with an extremely user-friendly interface suitable for young children and elders. Users can directly connect Eva to the TV and video call anyone with voice control.
Rokid Glass 2 infrared sensor also appeared in the film, with the guard using it to measure people’s temperature walking into the parameter. During the COVID-19 outbreak at the beginning of last year, Rokid took measures to find solutions through AR technology. Rokid Glass 2 infrared sensor solution can accurately detect temperatures of around 1000 people within 1 minute from 3 meters and a maximum of 6 meters. Furthermore, the glasses can measure 10 people’s temperature simultaneously. Rokid Glass has proven to be highly effective in measuring body temperatures in mobile patrols such as national parks, hospitals, warehouses, supermarkets, airports, among many other high- risk places. It has been sold to nearly 50 countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, England, Singapore, etc.
